It is hard to put into words what this past week was like in Mexico. This Tulum Mexico Destination Wedding was out of this world!! One for the books for sure! It was relaxed and intimate. We traveled with some amazing people and my husband was able to tag along to make a vacation out of it. We are so grateful to share in this experience and it was an amazing first destination wedding for me personally and professionally. We truly felt like family and had so much fun exploring Tulum! There is so something to these destination weddings that I never quite understood before this week. They are intimate and so magical. Lauren and Cappy had so many friends and family who were able to join them in their celebration. And those who couldn’t come, celebrated at home with them by enjoying margaritas and mexican food. I thought that was pretty neat! Both Lauren and Cappy were so at ease the whole day. No stress and just excited to celebrate with loved ones and each other. Their first look was nothing short of amazing as RJ took Cappy and I brought Lauren to the ‘spot’. They exchanged excitement and lots of hugs and kisses as they saw each other in their wedding attire. Her dress… I mean can we just say GORGEOUS… It is from Maya Couture and she was able to get it from the boutique right off the rack and needed very little alterations. It fit her perfectly. I loved Cappy’s suit and tie selection and their neutral tones to the wedding. Cappy was so stoked on this mosaic and eclectic wall so we knew it was a must for some photos right after the first look. We walked around the resort a bit to capture some portraits at the Chapel and some fun brightly colored walls before we headed to the beach. Their ceremony was beach side with just enough breeze and beautiful light. Surrounded by their families and close friends these two exchanged vows that were so beautiful, tears welded up in my eyes behind my camera. They kissed their first kiss as husband and wife and walked back down the isle as their guests cheers with maracas. The perfect touch!!
We spent some more time for some romantic images on the rocky coast. Both RJ and I has so much fun with these two capturing beautiful images for them to cherish. And can I just brag on my husband for a moment… he was a rock star and did amazing at shooting with me! He waved away beach goers during the ceremony, nailed some epic shots, and made sure I was okay the whole night. He even danced a bit too!! There is a pretty hilarious video to prove it!
I am so honored to have been a part of this wedding celebration and to tell their story through imagery that they can remember and share with friends and family!! It truly was the perfect celebration filled with their artistic flare, the beauty of Tulum’s beach and all the authentic Mexican charm of a mariachi band, margaritas, and tequilas shots…not to mention a beautiful couple who are the perfect pair! He wrote his vows in a moleskin notebook that her mom gave her and included funny tid bits about their relationship!! They enjoy a few tequila shots, did the ‘nay nay’, and snuggled on the beach in the most beautiful light!!
