I believe whole heartedly in capturing marriages and built in love stories well after the wedding day. There is so much in life that happens after the flowers die and the cake is eaten. A new chapter starts and while the newlywed bliss may ware off, the love and foundation remains. Seasons in marriage deserve to be frozen. These stories, your stories, deserve to told. Whether they include a elaborate picnic on the beach or not. It is the looks you share, the embraces, the laughter, and the feelings you get when you look back at these moments.
Back in February, Holly with Just Dandy Events and I brainstormed ideas on how to do something that not only breathed creativity into our businesses but blessed a couple with an Anniversary experience. So we sat over wine, dreamed up concepts, and asked some incredible creatives to join us. We were so thrilled to have this amazing team work with us on this shoot. It all came together so well, from the florals to the beauty to the set up, to our incredible and heartfelt couple. I LOVED working with Holly on this project!! She is such a dream to work with and simply incredible at what she does!

We decided to make a romantic picnic filled with cheeses, meats, and wine. We set up a cozy space for cuddling, snacking, and enjoying some vino. The coastal elements fit nicely at Pleasure House Point and the details all came together with the beautiful florals by Courtney with Courtney Inghram Floral Design. A lot of the details came straight from my coastal home so they may look familiar, but there is one detail that is really unique and pretty close to my heart.
I have been wanting to use this chess set in a shoot for a while now and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. This chess set was made by my parents. Back when they lived in Miami, they use to dive. My dad has this extensive coral collection (before it was illegal to take from the ocean), but him and my mom crafted this chess set from things they found on the beach. Driftwood and shells. How incredible and unique is this? I am in love with it and I really don’t want to give it back to them haha! It is amazing how creative and talented my parents are.
Robbie and Bailey met in the fifth grade… isn’t that crazy!!! They were good friends in high school, and grew up in the same little rural town of Greencastle, PA. Two weeks after graduating from high school, they started dating. They did the long distance relationship thing in opposite states, Bailey at UVA and Robbie at Shippensburg University in PA. Robbie made the move to VA for our second year of college, and they once again graduated together in 2010. After being together for nine years, they finally said “I do” on June 2, 2015, in the Outer Banks. Surrounded by family and friends holding umbrellas (it was pouring by they way!), their ceremony could not have been more perfect. Immediately after finishing our vows, the clouds lifted and the sun began to shine. If that isn’t a magical moment, I don’t know what is.
Robbie now works as a detective for the City of Charlottesville and Bailey is a RN case manager for children with special healthcare needs. They live in Fluvanna County on the outskirts of Charlottesville with their four fur babies (three dogs and a cat). While on the shoot, their pup got into some trouble while they were away! In their spare time, they love antiquing and all things vintage, channeling their inner Chip and Joanna while renovating their home, and hopping on the Harley for weekend rides. They are beach people and love nothing more than to spend their time with family and friends in Corolla, NC.
They are celebrating their second anniversary this June!
